La Bourdonnerie is a 300-year-old farm nestled in the green of Normandy. Even though the farm is no longer “active,” there are still many original facilities and some farm animals.
The extensive gardens extend over 10.000 square meters of lawn with 2 picturesque ponds that are home to ducks and frogs. Children can fish in the lower pond with rods and nets. The cottages are set around a traditional Norman courtyard with numerous flowerbeds, a stream and an orchard with free-roaming chickens.
There are wooden benches scattered throughout the property where you can rest, let your gaze wander and enjoy peace and quiet. To the west there is also a large play area with a trampoline, slide and swings. Guests love playing ball games on the play area and running around with their dogs.
A further 35.000 square meters of spectacular wildflower meadow border the playing area, the hay of which is harvested in mid-summer. It is surrounded by a path that invites you to take peaceful, car-free walks with children and dogs and, in autumn, to pick blackberries. In the north of the property, a narrow farm path leads deeper into nature and is also a popular, car-free route for walks.
