About the Normandy holiday farm
The farm consists of a main farmhouse (where we live year round!), and 4 cottages, two of which have been lovingly converted from a former barn on the property. The farm has seen many uses: previously a dairy farm, we have a photo from the 1800s showing the then owner with his wife, children and pig in front of the farm house. While the farm is no longer 'active', we still keep ducks, goats and chickens on site, as well as 3 hard working cats. Kids love interacting with the animals here whilst on their holiday, and especially feeding the chickens and ducks and fetching the eggs!
Holidays on the farm in Normandy
The farm itself is big: in addition to the landscaped gardens, we also have a large field (3.5 hectares) which is used as a hay meadow, around which we mow a path year-round so that holiday guests can take a stroll. There's a duck pond, a frog pond, and a stream running through the property, and there are chairs and benches provided if you want to just sit and take it all in. La Bourdonnerie is a converted 300 year old farm nestled in the green Normandy countryside, but conveniently located just 10km from the golden beaches of the west coast: the perfect place in Normandy for your holiday.
Whether it's ball games, flying a kite, feeding ducks, petting goats, catching frogs, a barbecue party, a leisurely walk, a picnic in the countryside or just lazing around and recharging your batteries: La Bourdonnerie - perfect for a family-friendly country trip in Normandy!
The farm consists of the main farmhouse (where we live all year round!) and 4 holiday homes, two of which have been lovingly converted from a former barn on the property. The farm has had a variety of uses: it used to be a dairy farm, we have photos from the 1800s showing the owner and his wife and children, as well as a pig in front of the farmhouse. Even though the farm is no longer “active”, we still have ducks, billy goats and chickens on the premises, as well as 3 hard working cats. Kids love interacting with the animals while on vacation, especially feeding the chickens and ducks and collecting the eggs!
The farm itself is large: in addition to the landscaped gardens, we also have a large field (3,5 hectares) which is used as a hayfield and around which we mow a path all year round so that our holiday guests can take a stroll . There is a duck pond as well as a stream running through the grounds and we provide chairs and benches if you just want to sit and take it all in.
The land was located in a large building (which we had in the door every year!) and 4 houses, two of which were built in a small building on the ground. The border is used in many manners: it was a milking machine. We take a photo with the negentiende eeuw of the toenmalige own hair with two women, children and varkens voor de boerderij. Hoewel de boerderij niet meer 'actief' is, hoden we still eenden, geiten en kippen on the terrein, naast 3 hardwerkende cats. Kinderen houden van het omgaan met de dieren here tijdens hun vacantie, en in the bijzonder van het voeren van de kippen en eenden en het ophalen van de eieren!
The land is large: after the area has been raised, we also have a large area (3,5 hectares) that is used as a living area, which means that there is always a pad on the door so that the vakantiegangers can walk. He is a eendenvijver, a kikkerpoel and a beek that streams over the ground, and he has two stools and benches when you want to sit and enjoy.
