The nearest sandy beaches are 10-15 minutes drive away and include St.Germain Plage and Pirou Plage, which have good facilities and are part of the vast stretch of safe, unspoilt sandy beaches and dunes that form the West Coast of the Cotentin peninsular. Try any of the numerous side roads to the west coast and there will always be another glorious beach to surprise you.

For delicious croissants and crispy baguettes every morning try the village grocer/bar, which is 5 minutes walk away from us. For your wider requirements the market town of La Haye du Puits offers excellent shopping facilities such as Supermarkets, Banks, Bars, Restaurants, Post Office, Bakers and Butchers etc. There is a traditional local market every Wednesday.

Many of Normandy's tourist attractions are within easy reach by car, Coutances ancient town & cathedral - 20 mins, Bayeux tapestry - 55 mins, Cherbourg hypermarkets - 45mins, Granville boutiques & marina - 50 mins, Mont St. Michel town & monastery  - 90 mins, Hambye Abbey - 40 mins, Barfleur romantic fishing port - 50 mins, Cap de la Hague stunning cliffs - 40 mins, Barneville Carteret & Portbail quaint coastal resorts and gateways to Jersey - 20 mins and Utah Beach war museums & cemeteries - 40 mins etc.

Throughout the year there are numerous flea markets, antique fairs, village fetes and music festivals in the area, including the famous Lessay Agricultural Fair on the first weekend of September and the Coutances Jazz Festival in May.
