Die Cotentin Halbinsel wird oft das kleine Irland genannt, denn sie ist bekannt für ihre grünen von Hecken umgebenen Felder, reizvollen Moorlandschaften und natürlich für ihre bezaubernde Küste, die dem naturliebenden Urlauber eindrucksvolle Steilklippen im Norden, sowie lange, oft menschenleere, weiße Sandsträne und Dünenlandschaften im Westen bietet. Wir befinden uns im Herzen des Cotentin und Bessin Naturparks, ideal zum Wandern, Radfahren, Reiten, Angeln oder einfach zum Ausspannen und Genießen der herrlichen Panoramen in dieser einzigartigen, weitgehend unberührten Landschaft……

Die nächsten Sandstrände St. Germain Plage, Creances und Pirou Plage sind 10 bis 15 Autominuten entfernt, aber sind nur ein kleiner Teil dieser einmaligen Küste. Es lohnt sich wirklich einige der unzähligen schmalen Stichstraßen zum Meer auszuprobieren und sich von der Vielfalt der Strände überraschen zu lassen. Lindbergh Plage, Denneville, Surville, Glatigny, Bretteville sur Ay, St. Remy des Landes, Carteret, Portbail….. sind alle einen Ausflug wert!

Für weitere Abwechslung sorgen die vielen landestypischen Wochenmärkte, Flohmärkte, Dorffeste und Musikfestivals unter anderem das bekannte Coutances Jazz Festival im Mai und der riesige, farbenfrohe Tiermarkt in Lessay im Mai und September.
Falls Sie einem typisch französischen Frühstück nicht widerstehen können empfehlen wir einen 5 minütigen morgentlichen Spaziergang zu unserem Gemischtwarenhändler im Dorf “Chez Valerie”, die jeden Morgen eine Lieferung frischer knuspriger Croissants und Baguettes bekommt. Für größere Einkäufe bietet La Haye du Puits (5km) 3 große Supermärkte (Aldi, Carrefour & Intermarche), Bäckereien, Metzgereien, Restaurants, Banken, Post etc., sowie einen traditionellen Markt jeden Mittwoch morgen. Für ganz besondere Leckereien empfehlen wir einen Besuch der Maison du Biscuit, Fromagerie Reo und Les Jambons du Cotentin. Die riesigen, französischen Hypermärkte befinden sich in Cherbourg (Auchan, Carrefour…) oder Coutances (Leclerc).
